Alessia Cara
Her debut song Here was released in 2015. The track received praise from listeners and music critics. It made it to the top 19 in both Billboard Hot 100 in Canada and also on the Canadian Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs of the year. In that same year she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks that peaked at Billboard charts, including the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. It was different due to the fact that many listeners were able to relate to the conversation she conducted with Rap-Up about her struggle to learn to love and accept herself. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental wellness and how important it is to love yourself. Cara has struggled with anxiety and insomnia, both of which affected her life. Reuters stated that she calls the album "half turbulent, and half finished". The therapy she received helped her grow and urges other artists to follow the same path. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. When she was 10 years old, her parents gifted her a guitar, which was the beginning of her musical passion. At the age of 13she began covering songs she loved on YouTube in order to show people that she was a talented artist and was able to pursue a career as musician. One of her tracks, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and record her own tracks.
